ConcertsContra Costa Wind Symphony Presents 'Mountains and Canyons'
Contra Costa Wind Symphony presents "Mountains and Canyons" at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 9 at Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. The majestic settings of the Grand Canyon, Mount Diablo, Machu Picchu and the Shenandoah River serve as the inspirational backdrop for the Contra Costa Wind Symphony’s upcoming Spring Concert, featuring the West Coast premiere of a new transcription of Ferde Grofé’s "Grand Canyon Suite" by Randol Alan Bass, as well as a reprise of Steven Reineke’s acclaimed "Mount Diablo: A Symphonic Portrait." The concert will also feature Satoshi Yagisawa’s "Machu Picchu: City in the Sky" and Bass’s arrangement of "Shenandoah." Tickets are $25. Call 943-7469 or go to lesherartscenter.org.
