Girls Basketball

Monte Vista Women's Basketball went head to head with Livermore High on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The Mustangs quickly took the lead, and defeated the Cowboys 55-22. Senior Captain Niveen Rasheed led her to team to victory with 14 rebounds and five steals.

Other key players were senior Nicole Vigar with seven rebounds, and junior Dani Rabago with four rebounds. The Mustangs are currently 11-1 in East Bay Athletic League, after a tough loss against Carondelet High on Feb. 13.

Boys Basketball

The Monte Vista Varsity Men's Basketball team took on Livermore High at home Feb. 10. Monte Vista easily dominated the game, beating Livermore, 58-37. Key players included seniors Brian Barbour, Mark Appel and Taylor Brewster.

The Mustangs are currently 10-2 in EBAL and hope to continue their winning record with their upcoming game against cross-town rivals San Ramon High School on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Dougherty Valley High School.

Girls Soccer

Women's Varsity Soccer challenged Amador High at their home field on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The first half was dead even, both teams playing with an extremely strong defense. Then, only four minutes into the second half, junior Jessie Schiff scored, giving the Mustangs the lead. Monte Vista finished the game hard, and defeated the Dons, 1-0. Other top players included senior Chloe Langon, who assisted the winning goal.

On Friday night Monte Vista played San Ramon Valley and lost, but both teams are going on to NCS.

Boys Soccer

After a difficult loss to Amador Valley on Feb. 10, Monte Vista Men's Soccer faced off against cross-town rivals San Ramon Valley High School.

The Mustangs had lost to San Ramon earlier in the year, but were ready to take revenge. The game was close, but in the end Monte Vista came out on top, defeating the Wolves, 2-0. Senior Parker Doliber and junior Zach Nielan both scored throughout the game. Monte Vista is looking forward to playing against Granada High, for their first round of North Coast Section, on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
