This is spectacular news! Congratulations to Congressman McNerney, but more importantly, congratulations to our honored veterans. As modern warfare has evolved, so has medicine's ability to save lives. The unfortunate consequence of this new reality is that Veterans' hospitals have yet to evolve to sufficiently handle long term rehabilitative care for the complex, yet survivable injuries they are now seeing. Hopefully this bill will bring us closer to bridging the gap between what veterans need and what modern medicine can provide.

This minor accomplishment in no way vindicates McNerney for betraying his constituents. The only way he could possibly vindicate himself is by personally leading a fight to repeal the Health Care Reform bill along with other leftist legislation that he has supported.
