My memory is of subbing at Kennedy Middle in Redwood City on Cinco de Mayo. Mexican children ran around with their flags. They taunted other ethnic groups who were never given a day of celebration of their own. Not wise. At lunch, as emotions rose, some Tongan students grabbed the Mexican bandera and urinated on it. Fights ensued. Poor planning by a ridiculous administration mouthing diversity yet celebrating only one group was the cause. I heard they canceled Cinco the following year.

Not surprised! It also happens at Watsonville, the US flag is flown upside down at schools. In the strawberry fields I have witnessed the US flag flying under that of Mexico.
