U.S. Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D., Alamo) today accepted an offer from the Obama administration to serve in a key post at the U.S. State Department. Accepting the position of Undersecretary of Arms Control and International Security means Tauscher will vacate her seat as the representative of California's 10th Congressional District.

Dear Ms. Tauscher,
Thank you for your willingness to serve our nation, to serve our federal district, and to serve your neighbors in your hometown of Alamo. Your exceptional focus and scope of understanding will be missed in our community of neighborhoods, but let's just smile once more as we pass on the Iron Horse Trail with, "Good morning, Ms. Tauscher!"
