Predawn earthquake shakes up Danville

Some Danville and Alamo residents were shaken awake this morning at 4:42 a.m. by a 4.2 magnitude earthquake centered two miles northeast of Oakland that lasted approximately 10 seconds. Although some damage was reported in Oakland and Berkeley, no one was injured.

It was pretty scary. I felt my apartment building was going to crumble. Then it stopped. And then I went back to bed. I've experienced a couple of slight earthquakes being California, but this most recent one was the loudest and most felt. It was a shame. I was having such a good night's sleep.
