While I sympathize with Susan Kelchner and her broken windows, I take note of her comment re "...disappointing this happesn in our community..." Yes, it is unfortunate that kids get into fights and vandalism, and it should not be condoned. But when Danville stages an event that aggressively draws from the greater Contra Costa area, there is bound to be some problems when outsiders are invited into the Danville cocoon. The Danville Council curtailed booze at the event (making it less fun); with this recent incident I only hope that they do not curtail the event altogether.

My teens/kids and I were not present however, this was the talk of the town w/ the high school teens/kids today and they happen to know that the majority of the 50 kids fighting were from our very own little "Danville Cocoon" so please don't be so quick to place blame on surrounding areas...

Thank you for clarifying that. I work in town but do not live here. My teens play sports often in the area and it is a breath of fresh air to hear a member of the community speak so candidly. Thank you Reality check.
