Declare yourself a CANDIDATE for SUPERVISOR!
Around Town, posted by Alamo community of neighborhoods, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Jul 9, 2007 at 1:07 pm

YES, YOU CAN BE A CANDIDATE OR SELECT A CANDIDATE FOR SUPERVISOR!

Supervisorial Districts 2, 3 & 5 seats are up for election in the 06/03/08 Primary Election.

The regular nomination period starts 02/11/08 & ends 03/07/08. If the incumbent does not file, the nomination period gets extended 5 calendar days to "non incumbents only", which would be 03/12/08.

There is a non-refundable filing fee which will be 1% of the annual salary ($960 approx) which is due at the time the candidate takes out their nomination papers during the regular nomination period. Valid nomination signatures of no less than 20 but no more than 40 are required at the time the nomination papers are filed.

The signature-in-lieu period is optional for the candidate & simply helps pay for the filing fee. It starts 12/28/07 & ends 02/21/08. This is not to be confused with the nomination period. Valid signatures of voters that live within the district the candidate is running for are credited towards the filing fee. Each valid signature is worth 25 cents.

The "write-in candidacy period" starts 04/07/08 & ends 05/20/08. No filing fee is required but the valid nomination signatures of no less than 20 but no more than 40 are still required.

Dear Alamo neighbors,

We can all shout, "Houston, we have a candidate!"

Guy Houston, as long rumored, is running for District 3 Supervisor and his campaign is due to "Lift-off" today. Let's get behind Guy and resolve Alamo's painful issues with District 3.
