Local Voice an issue in all communities and neighborhoods
Around Town, posted by CDSI Courtesy, a resident of another community, on Sep 9, 2008 at 5:40 pm

Dear Editor,

Today, in e-exchanges throughout the Iron Horse corridor from Concord to Pleasanton, many neighbors noted that issues of neighborhood voice are not simply the issues faced by residents within the proposed Town of Alamo. Many neighborhoods throughout the corridor provided multiple examples of issues between governments and neighborhoods in Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Danville, San Ramon, Dublin and Pleasanton. A great deal of humor was shared about Clayton as a overly-perfect example of a town too full of itself.

All neighbors are seeking answers to the failure of neighborhoods' voices in government and clearly show why current city government simply doesn't work as a democracy led by the people. Example after example illustrated that governments are their own industry and opposed to the neighborhoods that create their dimensions.

The voices of many communities and neighborhoods warned neighborhoods within the proposed Town of Alamo not to let such undemocratic results happen and to set definition for new community-led government. Alamo is a cry for voice among all communities and neighborhoods and a starting point for a revolution of change.

Consider carefully,

Hal/CDSI
