A poet laureate for Danville?

Danville resident poet Elm Battersby suggested at the Town Council meeting last week that Danville appoint a poet laureate, and said she personally would be interested in the position.

I think having a poet laureate would liven up things and people would look foward to hearing the new poem written for the current special event. The person would become a special and anticipated guest.
