If you're ready to reduce or remove your lawn, then come learn how your "American dream landscape" doesn't have to be a nightmare of water consumption and fertilization. This free program takes place in the upstairs meeting room of the San Ramon Library, 100 Montgomery St. (at Bollinger Canyon Rd. and Markeplace)on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Master Gardeners Shelley Somersett and Sylvia Rose will discuss "Replacing the Lawn with Drought-Tolerant Alternatives."

No ground cover converts carbon dioxide into oxygen more efficiently than natural green grass.
