Thank you for the questions regarding policing on the Iron Horse Trail. The trail itself is the jurisdiction of the East Bay Regional Park District and they do have police who handle calls on the trail. So, if you call 9-1-1 and tell the dispatcher there is a problem on the trail, your call will be routed to EBRPD Police.
If during the course of their patrol Danville Police Officers see a suspicious subject on the trail they can and will act.
The EBRPD does have volunteers who patrol the Iron Horse Trail. Information on the trail patrol program is available on their website, Web Link.
The rule of thumb is if you see something suspicious, whether it is in your neighborhood or on the trail, please report it.
Thanks again for the question, hope this helps. Have a good day!
Geoff
