Project begins to connect two trails under freeway

Ground was broken Tuesday morning on a 794-foot project to connect trails in the Tri-Valley that end abruptly at Interstate 580, frustrating folks who would like to continue to the other side.

Hooray! Now our cycle team won't have to keep cutting through the BART station to cross 580. The intersection of Hopyard and 580 is harrowing... I'd love to see a map and a completion date!
