Danville: "Whose town is it anyway?"
Around Town, posted by CDSI Courtesy, a resident of another community, on Aug 27, 2011 at 9:14 am

Dear Editor,

Diablo Vista region neighborhood forum will meet today in Blackhawk to support Danville neighborhood forum participants answer “Whose town is it anyway?” Neighborhoods along Diablo Road are wondering if Danville’s mostly appointed town council has fully separated themselves from the will and interests of Danville residents. Danville residents, as the owners and stakeholders of the town government, are fully aware they are not being represented against the political interests that pay for town council approvals.

It is very clear to Danville residents that Hap Magee Ranch and Weber Ranch developments are simply a starting point as Danville’s town government serves development east into Tassajara Valley. It seems you have a story to report about the growing separation of Danville residents and the town government. Already subscriber news service has provided in-depth analysis of the shortcomings in planning infrastructure by Danville’s government for the Weber Ranch and Hap Magee Ranch massive projects. Traffic, drainage, water, and utilities are only planned on the project sites and little consideration is given to the impact on the entire Diablo Road area and other communities.

Time to tell the story?

I believe you are referring to SummerHill's proposed major new subdivision of "Magee Ranch East & West." (It is not "Hap Magee Ranch." And YES!!! every community in our area should meet and be concerned about what Danville's Planning Comission and Town Council are doing! In the interests of expanding their revenues (and thereby maintaining their salaries), they are making Danville as developer-friendly and development-friendly as possible! This subdivision will create MAJOR traffic nightmares that will divert traffic into and through Alamo and south to Camino Tassajara and Sycamore roads. It will impair emergency services into and out of the area. And if Danville can do this to the Diablo Road / Blackhawk Road communities, they can do it to you! Step up! Make your voice and vote heard! Tell Danville NO MORE!!!

I couldn't agree with these folks more. It's time to remind our elected officials that they work for us! Join us at Friday's Morning with the Mayor at Father Nature's in downtown Danville on Friday, September 2, at 7:30am. Bring your friends and let's speak up.

Also please visit www.save-our-creek.com to get updates on the process and learn ways to donate to the cause.
