Liberal California is at it again! I bet the judge was thinking something like, "Oh, it is just money from a wealthy community - she didn't hurt any of those wealthy people too badly." Please! Rememeber it also took another state (Nevada) to do California's job finally locking up O.J. Simpson.

What ever Alan...sad situation...not new, I presume she has kids and a husband...she should do time. Sorry she could not look in the mirror each morning and say, I look good...I like me....

Sad situation?! You have got to be kidding. Husband must have either been clueless or in on it. You don't just come home with plastic surgery done and your spouse says, "that's nice, dear." She selfishly brought it on herself obviously not thinking of anyone else. People need to stop making excuses for bad/illegal behavior and at a church no less.

Crimes aside.... what does it really say about the ultra-shallow (and I must note, mostly republican) nature of Blackhawk when the single most successful business in the flagship shopping center is the Plastic Surgery chop shop? Or when the rudest drivers in our area are the ones trying to run you over in the very same parking lots?

@jrm
Really, a sad situation? Pulling from an article about Dake is it really sad that she couldn't afford this season's Jimmy Choo's?
"Speaking of Blackhawk, the woman I mentioned above, Kathleen Dake, apparently came to believe that plastic surgery, shopping at Bloomingdales and owning and maintaining a Porsche were necessities. Dake so much needed them in her life that she broke the law and pretty much risked everything to pay for them: her integrity, her job, her reputation, her freedom...Wow, what a reversal of fortune: from Blackhawk to County Jail in Martinez; from a Bloomingdale's wardrobe to an orange jail jumpsuit."
Being you posted from Vista Grande ES, you probably don't have any idea the mentality of the Blackhawk community and the hierachy within. Generally, the women in old Danville are usually quite nice and normal, but Blackhawk women are a breed of thier own! Come over and visit sometime and you might start to understand - families move in there because the women are that shallow.

If it get's you through the day to believe that Alan, I won't rain on your deluded little parade. There are no doubt plenty of shallow lefty-women there too, but it is abundantly clear that Blackhawk has a republican majority.

Next up Evelyn Peinado, longtime church volunteer. Court date Sept. 22nd. Family has given so much money to the church that the St. Isidore CYO gym graciously designated an area, the Wall of Fame in honor of Peinado.

Cathy, I have lived in Danville for over 20 years and I have a number of friends who live in Blackhawk and I always chuckle at the apparent "Blackhawk envy" some folks exhibit. The community is not for me (who needs a gated community in Danville for goodness sake?) but I never judge those who feel a need live there. Generalizing about a group of people is something I have learned not to do. Agreed, some Blackhawk residents are totally into it and obnoxious but most of my friends just want to live on a quiet street and be left alone. I said it was "sad" about Ms Dake because of the obvious lack of judgement and moral fiber in her adult being. She should be punished but clearly she has mental issues. I do get a kick out of the "Blackhawk Women's Republican Group" and their list of speakers around election time though...never a moderate Republican on the dias.
