Don't you think it would have been wise before committing to the siren song of solar to assess what else might be needed in order to make it work? This is why government always overrun their estimates!

Dear Editor,

Nothing provided in courtesy by news service alliance illustrates any dislike for solar panels as noted in this exchange. The issue among neighbors of SRVUSD solar power generation stations is the industrial facilities that violate surrounding zoning and provide massive industrialization in their neighborhoods. There is little cause for such industrialization based on available roof-top technologies for solar power generation.

If maintenance is stretched, does that mean the campus and classrooms will be even more neglected than they were when I graduated in 2007? Priorities never seemed to be the practical care of facilities.

Those solar panels are the ugliest thing happening in Danville since I moved here in 1973. They really detract from the "Danville Town" image. Now they are installing them in the front of the school. How awful. What was this town thinking when they approved such an eye sore? No wonder people are thoroughly disgusted with politics and political decisions. Not only are they out of contact with the rest of the world, they don't care how much money they spend on bad ideas? How did this get passed?

Dear Editor,

This exchange is about registration for SRVHS. Thus it is only a humorous diversion to discuss the industrialization of Danville downtown with a solar power generation station.

In great laughter this morning, neighbors are reminded of the Embarcadero Freeway that made the City waterfront UGLY for many years and wondered if it would be brought back as a Sunpower Solar Power Generation Station? Certainly, putting an industrial solar power generation across the front of SRVHS is reminiscent of the Embarcadero Freeway and not really funny at all.

I wonder if that REGISTERS with the SRVUSD board?

Hal, Citizen Paine, and others- I think we all appreciate the huge irony of the power "outrage." Those of us who are somewhat disgruntled by the project are waiting for a transparent analysis provided to the public/tax payers. Many of us support "green" technology, but have seen poor stewardship of local public schools for years. Given the amount of capital waste and poor prioritizing at these facilities, wouldn't it be interesting to see the actual annual energy expenditures per site? There are many issues with these facilities that are not resolved- the hard stuff has been left on the table and the flashy big project is a distraction.

l am still enjoying the comment of the prior discussion about the panels: "It's FREE government money."
