Trial date set in Fuchs murder

Walter Bell, 20, is charged with murdering Rylan Fuchs, 17, during an [Web Link attempted marijuana robbery]. The teen was shot outside his parent's home on Jan. 20, 2009. Bell will stand trial on Dec. 5.

Anyone else amazed at how long it takes to get a murder case prosecuted?

Yes, there's only a few cases in danville I actually follow, this is one of them.

Derek: I agree with you 100%, it takes way too long to bring a murder case to trial. Problem is the criminal defendant can waive his right to a speedy trial, causing one delay after another, and there is no requirement that the DA have a right to a speedy trial. Waiting this long is painful for the families of the victims of the criminal justice system.
