Why neighborhoods protect their confidentiality, posted October 29, 2007 (edited for this posting)

Alamo neighborhood groups, in alliance, formed because county agencies, including the AIA, operated independently of neighborhoods' interests, in opposition to neighborhoods' advisories, and ignored neighborhoods' request for participation.

Neighbors have communicated confidentially among themselves because of continuous efforts to force the neighbors' alliances to be subject to public review and control. Results of public commentary by neighbors that oppose the actions of Alamo community leadership illustrate that community groups and their regional political supporters disrespect and disregard such opinions. Neighbors, as the public voice for majority opinion in Alamo, have had their commentary misrepresented in community group leadership response.

Individually, every neighbor among the neighborhood groups welcomes contact. But as groups, Alamo region neighbors will remain confidential in private, neighbor-to-neighbor communication.
