I am sure happy to hear that Michael Vawter's Scout membership has been revoked. Too bad they didn't check him out BEFORE he became a Scout leader.

Sara, come on, I’m sure you are educated enough to know that a check on someone will only show something if they have been previously caught doing something wrong. I’m sure that Scouts followed proper procedures and didn’t find anything. Also, to let you know, Scouts jumped on this immediately to satisfy all parents and members.

God bless his wife and children!

51 months is a joke!

I can’t believe I am saying this, but, 51 months for a man who has never hurt anyone? He is not a threat to our community. He has already lost everything. I just hope that this time will heal this family, and when he gets out, this family will be strong enough to work things out so that all 4 of them can be happy. God bless them!

Interesting to compare/contrast this with the slightly longer (5 years) sentence recently negotiated for the Livermore Hummer Hag -- on 64 counts (but who's counting?) of actual sex with minors (boys, 13 and 14), and nude photos and shooting people and property with pellet guns.

"Discuss."

Good point. I guess we learned 2 valuable lessons.

1. Don’t download; go buy a magazine or video from a dirty little store.

2. Blonds really do have more fun and get away with it.

Citizen, that is an interesting point to ponder. I wonder if the ages of the boys involved with the Livermore mom vs. the age of the children in the video played a role.

Anonymous - better still, avoid purchasing/downloading any form of porn that involves children.

Parent, I would argue that by downloading these videos he contributed to the victimization of the children and perpetuated this sort of crime. If no one buys the videos, no one makes the videos.

I do share the hope that his family will heal. Their support is likely the best chance this man has of avoiding these challenges and therefore participating in victimizing children in the future.

I guess my sarcasm didn’t really explain my point.

I totally can’t comprehend any kind of abuse of a child, whether mental, emotional, physical, or sexual. It is disgusting!

However, someone once asked me what is the difference between downloading or buying from a store. Most man can’t guess the age, and therefore, how can you say it is a crime?

I guess my point was, don’t download, don’t go to a dirty little store that probably has the same illegal stuff. As for the blond comment, again, it’s a joke, Michael gets 5 years for looking, she gets 5 years for doing.

Does that seem fair?
