Jubari Bird, Salesian 6'5" wingman clipped from roster
Sports, posted by Street Ball, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Jan 26, 2011 at 6:41 am

Top bay area H.S. basketball team Salesian of Richmond was forced to forfeit 16 games this past week due to pre-enrollement contact (violation 510 CIF bylaw) with Jubari Bird (Oakland Soldier AAU).

The CIF decision is being appealed by the school.

However, this is not the first time schools in this area involved with the Oakland Soldiers have violated CIF bylaws.

Good news for Castro Valley!

Not the first time the Oakland Soldiers AAU program has had trouble with bay area high school basketball transfers. Coach Mark Oliver of Hercules HS had over 5 players transfer from the Oakland Soldiers to his high school team a few years back. However, it was not until Tim Pierce transferred from Fremont of Oakland during his senior summer year that the proverbial brown mass hit the fan.

After extensive interviews by NCS/CIF commissioner Gil Lemon, Ja-Bari Bird's elgibility has been re-instated at Salesian H.S.

High basketball IQ, but a seriously low paperwork IQ issue was the problem.
