When organizers of Street Smarts, a traffic safety program in the San Ramon Valley, decided they needed to do everything possible to get the attention of teen drivers, they turned to Cpt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger for a helping hand.

I'm confused. If this is focusing specifically on Dougherty Valley High School students, why are students at Monte Vista High School being encouraged to submit their real-life experiences as a driver or passenger on the program's website? Am I missing something?

Hi Sue, there was a mix up with the press materials and it should state that Dougherty Valley High School students are encouraged to submit videos. The story has been updated to reflect that.

[removed] how about we make the fines for cell phone distraction as serious as drunk driving - like mandatory public service in spiffy orange jump suits combined with huge fines and at least two or three points off the old DMV score? And I don't mean just for the kids, though texting is the worst of all, teenagers being the most frequent offenders.
