Medicare confusion
State, National, International, posted by Alamo Resident, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Jul 30, 2010 at 12:33 pm

Does anyone have it figured out just how much Supplemental Insurance is needed when one reaches Medicare age. I am being bombarded with "information" and the costs for these supplemental plans vary from very expensive to very inexpensive --- is Supplemental Insurance really needed along with Medicare, or does the new Health Bill change things. I need help with navigating the system.

Dear Dolores,

Please have your reader contact me confidentially at CDSI Info, halbailey@yahoo.com. We have prepared a spreadsheet of this year's plans and what they provide.

We would be happy to share the information.

Alamo Resident,

Health Insurance and Advocacy Program (HICAP) representatives often go to Senior Centers to assist with these decisions - if you call a local Center they would be able to tell you if/when they would come by.

Good luck!
