Sometimes a story is a series of observations that can allow a reader to share in the experience. The story "Bragging rights" about the football game between San Ramon Valley High School and Monte Vista was written in this style, for the reader to "be there" at the exhilarating scene of the cross-town rivalry that Friday evening. The reporter - who has no allegiance to either side and enjoys covering events at all the schools - attended the game to take part in the excitement, observe it, and report on it.

Dear Dolores,

Well said. After all, it is only high school and football and should not define anyones life. This isn't TEXAS!

Now if the played Rugby, it would be a different story!
