Alamo holds Tree Lighting Festival

Alamo folks gathered at Andrew H. Young Park on Sunday evening for the gala Tree Lighting Festival, which included goodies to eat and drink, music by school choirs, and a visit from Santa Claus. Dick Delfosse was also named Alamo Business Person of the year.

Alamo has been getting lit for years.

It reminds me of the days of Dandelion Wine and laying drunk along the SPRR right of way so the steam engine could wake us up with his whistle. Now we hang lights in trees as an exceptional expense to our R-7A parcel taxes and drink vintages that we can increasingly afford.

But we are getting lit just the same.
