David Livingston's opponent is not ethical
Around Town, posted by Treebeard, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on May 18, 2010 at 7:48 am

I received a "hit piece" from the losing candidate for sheriff in yesterday's mail. It is really a most deceptive piece of misinformation. It purports to quote "court documents" as damning evidence against David Livingston's term as Concord Police Chief.

The use of "court documents" in this manner is meant to deceive. People can say any darn thing they want to in court and it becomes a "court document."

It doesn't have to be true, it doesn't have to be accurate, it can be a pack of lies, but it is still part of a "court document." Don’t fooled by the semantics of implying that a "court document" is true. Any Perry Mason fan (yes, I'm dating myself) knows that people lie like a rug in court. When these lies are quoted out of context, it is unethical.

My vote for David Livingston means that our sheriff will have integrity and honor an order of magnitude better than this.

[Portion removed because it is unfounded and may be misconstrued] I may vote for Mr. Livingston, and I am currently undecided, but I am troubled by the above.

The April 27, 2010 article written by the Danville Express stated that candidate David Livingston and his wife Agnes have three children. Was the article written by the Danville Express "unfounded" and "misconstrued"? Danville Express has lost all credibility. I will no longer read the Danville Express. I was hoping to hear from other people on this issue, as I am still undecided in this election. Mr. Livingston appears very qualified on paper, but I am concerned about the issue the Danville Express removed. I still may vote for Mr. Livingston. The Danville Express failed to serve it's important purpose in this election. Shame on the Danville Express.
