I was at Hap Magee park today and it looks like the YMCA is gone - no sign, no trailer and the cottage looks cleaned out... Anyone know what's going on?

Yes, the YMCA has vacated their offices at Hap Magee Ranch Park and those functions will now be carried out in their main office in Walnut Creek. I understand that this was a cost savings measure and that programs will not be affected.

The YMCA doesn't have any offices in Walnut Creeek - do you mean Pleasant Hill? I thought those offices were being shut down as well. Seems like all this is happening very secretly. Their website doesn't mention anything about it and the address is still listed as La Gonda.

I regret my error.

The YMCA Regional Office is in Pleasant Hill as listed on their website Web Link

Dear Dolores,

Let's share some guidance for further research of the extreme fiscal crisis at Mt. Diablo Region YMCA:

#1 - The website is not updated likely because of staff reductions and the oversight of YMCA Chicago HQ and the temporary management by BAYMCA President.

#2 - Many more changes are occurring in boards of directors for the MDRYMCA association board and regional boards.

#3 - Various challenges to MDRYMCA uses of donations for general operations are being investigated and former financial personnel are restricted in their disclosure.

To qualify the result, "There is no there there" from these significant results of fiscal crisis and uses of donations reported.

There is no ROFL for Ralph N. Shirlet
