An invitation to hear former Assemblywoman, Lynne Leach
Schools & Kids, posted by Steve Mick, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Mar 15, 2010 at 3:38 pm

On Monday, March 22, 2010 you are invited to hear former State Legislator, community activist, and businesswoman Lynne Leach. Lynne was elected to the Assembly in 1996 and was the first woman to ever represent the combined Alameda/Contra Costa Counties 15th Assembly District. She was reelected in 1998 and 2000 by commanding margins and term limited out in 2002. This influential speaker will address the theme of the competition this year "The Balance of Power - The Dynamic Tension between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of Government."

This is the fourth and last in the Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley Scholarship Essay Competition speaker's series. Ms. Leach will speak at the Veterans Hall on the corner of Hartz Avenue and West Prospect in Danville, from 6:30pm to 7:15pm. Scholarship Essay Awards are $1,500, $1,000 and $500 available to high school students. PG&E donated a scholarship grant and AT&T supported the installation of Freedom Shrines of Historical Documents. Other speakers have been former Assemblyman Guy Houston, businesswoman, Judy Lloyd, and Contra Costa County Superior Court Judge Barry Baskin. For questions, visit our website at www.SRVexchangeclub.org or call June at 925-943-1188 or Roxanne 925-837-6253.

Can't these people get a real job? This is what term limits is all about...we want Lynn and Guy to re-enter the private sector and go away. For Guy in particular, Dude, what actually do you do for a living after all the lawsuits for fraud you and your Dad settled? Many folks in the Valley got fleeced by your company and I cannot believe you still have the eggs to put yourself out there. Flacks like you suckle off the public breast and make money by peddling private interests. I am amazed they have the lack of class to continue to shill themselves...they line up at all available public events for sustaining visibility but sadly they really don't understand their relevance is long gone, and it's a good thing...I hope Karen Stepper and the rest don't seek to feather their nest.
