This is the second in the Exchange Club's Speakers Series which offers students the opportunity to interact with prominent leaders as they discuss "The Balance of Power: The Dynamic Tension between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of Government" - this year's Essay Competition topic.
Scholarship awards are $1,500, $1,000 and $500 and are available to high school students. PG&E donated a scholarship grant and AT&T supported the installation of Freedom Shrines of Historical Documents which serve as reference material for the competition.
Other speakers will be Judge Barry Baskin, Contra Costa County Superior Court, who will discuss the Judicial Branch on March 8 and former Assemblywoman Lynne Leach who will summarize the balance of power between the branches of our government on March 22.
