Dear Dolores,

Thank you for your Diablo Views and personal story telling in this difficult year of 2009. You and your reporters worked very hard to bring the stories of this year to your readers.

Our region had major challenges to our sense of community that fractured residents into factions large and small. Anger and contempt among commentators on the Town Square Forum illustrated the more aggressive factions' perspectives.

We have many opportunities to move forward with community in 2010 that will have origins in our neighborhoods. I look forward to your viewpoints as 2010 unfolds.
