SRVUSD Community

I encourage all of you to apply for this committee. I worked very hard for the passage of Measure C and I truly believe that the Citizen Oversight Committee is a critical element to the proper execution of Measure C funds. This is a direct way to ensure your 144 dollars per year is being spent on the direct education of our students.

I would love to be part of this committee. However, the rules say "No employee or official of the district, vendor, contractor, or consultant of the district may be appointed to the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee."

I certainly respected the opposing arguments of Measure C because, no doubt, we have enough tax dollar waste in our local, state, and national bureaucracies. So I encourage those of you who question the Measure C expenditures to apply for this committee and provide citizen accountability for our school district and its community.

Anyone that read the debates here during the ballot measure should recognize that I was a huge proponent of Measure C. I sent in my application today to be on the committee so that I can continue to support this measure by hopefully helping to ensure the funds are used wisely.

For those that so vocally opposed the measure because you felt the funds would be misappropriated, here is your opportunity to do something about it other than just complaining.
