Diablo Views: The wedding planners

How was your daughter's wedding? some people have asked me. Perhaps I announced it too soon, when Zoe and Jeff became engaged more than a year ago. The wedding will take place in July.

Given these tough economic times, can anyone recommend inexpensive (but reliable and good quality) places to get a wedding cake, a photographer, a video person, caterer, etc.? I have generally found personal recommendations to be very good.

Maybe this is an inappropriate request for this forum, if so, just delete my post. But because of the bleak economic picture, my daughter has decided on a backyard wedding. Any helpful tips or ideas on reducing costs would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

I wish we could have a backyard wedding - our yard is just too small. And I've been told that even in a backyard wedding, things really add up so we're going to a restaurant. We are not doing a video although a friend said he will shoot one. I think your daughter and her fiance have to decide what is important to them and what is not.

I'm all for passing along tips on this forum. Can anyone help? I think I mentioned using bridesmaid bouquets as decorations. Also the bridesmaids ordered their dresses online.
