Ace nature photographer Joe Christianson, a senior at San Ramon Valley High, went hiking in Las Trampas right after the heavy rains and shared this gorgeous photo of the waterfall off Madrone Trail near Camille Avenue in Alamo. How fitting since the East Bay Regional Park District, which is responsible for the 5,342-acre Las Trampas Regional Wilderness and its expanded trails, is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Congrats to Mr. Christianson for some wonderful photos. Having walked through Las Trampas during late Spring through late Fall I have never seen water, so his photos were a pleasant surprise.

Hi All,
The waterfalls can be reached from the trailhead at Camille Avenue in Alamo. After going through a cattle gate and up the first hill, the trail splits. Take the left branch of the trail and follow it above the ravine/creek. When you reach the point where the creek flows beneath the trail, go off-trail and follow the creek upstream until you find the falls.
