Monte Vista junior wins 'Poetry Out Loud'

In its first year participating in the nationwide Poetry Out Loud competition, Monte Vista High School put in a strong showing, sending one student on to compete at the statewide level in Sacramento. MVHS junior Diane Rodriguez, 16, took part in the regional competition Feb. 8, after placing first in the schoolwide competition in late January.
