A rate increase of 4% is not justified...the rate should have been at least 5% to 8%. I'm sure us folks in Alamo will see a rate increase above 4%. I've been in the Solid Waste business for over 48 years and I'm sure Allied Waste and Waste Management are submitting all the required income and expense financial documents to justify any increase in waste and recyclable materials collection. The service these two companies provide is absolutely necessary. The equipment you see collecting your out throws are the finest money can buy...these vehicles including the carts cost well over $300,000.00 each. We are fortunate to have Allied Waste and Waste Management servicing the Town of Danville and Alamo area. Remember those vehicles you see rolling through your neighborhood every week are just as important as our local fire tucks. The only difference is, the garbage trucks do not have red flashing lights and sirens. Thank you
