All's quiet on the West Willimantic Front!
Around Town, posted by Just me, a resident of another community, on Dec 15, 2008 at 5:14 pm

Dear neighbors,

In these silent nights and days, we continue not a sound but the holidays. Our regional community quite uniquely disappears off the all media pages. Our council candidates in our own Brigadoon stay quietly in the fog. AND the growing issues of fiscal crisis are hidden quietly behind Christmas lights and trees.

Public people throughout our region are more like vaporware, not existent in today's context or interested in the immediate issues of purpose in our governments. Our media has proclaimed that they are not in service to us at all. Messages and information fall like pedals into absence as unanswered.

In our personal joy of the season, we are forgotten as citizens.

ME

Is that you, Me?

We do need some public and immediate action. Mr. Bush should give the reporter back his shoes, pardon his poor aim, and celebrate PEACE in our season.

As for Alamo council candidates, let them plan their campaigns carefully and get them really rolling around April 1st or so. After all, Me, you do live in a different time zone.

Cheers,

Vince
