Dear Editor,

Diablo Vista region neighborhoods are holding casual discussion groups during the run-up to the elections. We welcome public opinion for discussion at csj94507@yahoo.com and welcome individual participation.

Our discussion groups are looking beyond the March 2009 Alamo incorporation election to determine how our regional community of neighborhoods will deal with all governments in our region. We welcome comments on community building, economic development and rejuventation, and the character of our environment.

The Election is scheduled and what exactly are the issues voters will consider?

1. A majority of voters want definition of government from council candidates as a commitment including a citizen-led formation taskforce.

2. A majority of voters want citizens' participation and oversight via commissions and committees for each function of government.

3. A majority of voters want improved infrastructure, economic development and well-planned character for our environment.

4. A majority of voters support annexation of regional neighborhoods including neighborhoods currently in Walnut Creek and Danville.

Don't be over joyed about LAFCO's vote to allow the incorporation of Alamo on a March 2009 ballot. LAFCO only heard from a bunch of self serving individuals.

Now it's time for the silent majority of Alamo's sensible voters to rally together and let those Ultra-Ego individual's know where we stand. "SAVE ALAMO...SPEAK UP AND VOTE NO" The community of Alamo is NOT broke, so lets not break it.

With volumes of commentary now circulating among neighborhoods with growing interest in concluding consideration of incorporation as soon as possible, our neighborhood representatives are noting more neighbors participating in discussion groups. Our region is ready to look beyond incorporation to renewing our community, infrastructure, economic development and character of our environment.

Dear neighbors,

Let our ad hoc committees clarify that a majority of neighbors support a defined incorporation proposal for voter consideration on March 3, 2008. We believe it is the council candidates' obligation to commit to a definition of government they support so all neighbors truly have a reasonable choice in voting for or against incorporation.

We recognize that supporters of the current incorporation proposal are fully opposed to a majority of voter who desire a defined incorporation for voting consideration. Such opposition supports a town council that may define our government without any requirement to consider the advisory and interests of a majority of residents and their neighborhoods.

Demand definition, voters!
