LAFCO defines CCC-BOS consideration
Around Town, posted by LAFCO advisory, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Oct 23, 2008 at 10:40 am

Contra Costa LAFCO advisory:

Per the LAFCO resolution approving the incorporation and making determinations, LAFCO has requested the County Board of Supervisors to call for the March 3, 2009 election to include the question of incorporation of the Town of Alamo and the election of the first city council.

This request is made pursuant to Government Code Section 57000 which requires the Board to call for the election. The Board's action to place a measure on the ballot is ministerial.

Diablo Vista region neighborhoods position: Ad hoc community committee supports a "VOTE ASAP AS-IS" for incorporation of a proposed Town of Alamo. It is expected that all council candidates will provide in-depth definition of government they support so voters may rationally consider their support for incorporation.

Dear neighborhoods,

I too expect candidates to provide a reason for me to consider incorporation support. Like many, we all expect the same leaders of the incorporation to be candidates for council. What should we expect as commitments from such candidates? Will it be more of the same? When will we find out what we are voting for?
