In morning e-exchanges, neighbors throughout our Diablo Vista region were considering who would be candidates for Alamo Town Council in any incorporation election. Many names among the current more public proponents for incorporation were eliminated, but few names could be suggested as potential candidates that would be trusted with the first four years of creating and defining our government.
It was an exceptional discussion that should be considered by your broader readership. Within the AIM boundaries, it would appear, the choice of candidates will determine the outcome of an incorporation election.

At 4PM, on Thursday, September 18, 2008, neighbors that originated liaison with the Alamo Incorporation Movement (AIM, May 30, 2007) will be attending a meeting of Contra Costa Local Area Formation Commission (CCLAFCO) as commissioners decide if AIM's Town of Alamo incorporation proposal and application will be approved for an incorporation election. We would suggest that neighbors throughout our region attend this commissioners' meeting and consider public comment on incorporation issues that remain unanswered.
We additionally suggest that you contact www.alamoinc.org (AIM) or www.alamocommunity.org (ACF), and post your questions and concerns to be addressed by commissioners, AIM and ACF at that meeting during the public commentary portion of the proceedings.
As you continue your consideration of the defined incorporation proposal and candidates you would support for potential incorporation of AIM's Town of Alamo, please include such considerations in your contact with AIM and ACF.

"Hello darkness, my old friend," it might be said, "I've come to call on you again."
We are asked to prepare for September 18 in silence as the LAFCO staff, commission and AIM committee reject explanation of incorporation considerations.
And who does this meeting belong to, one might ask?
Ultimately, we are bringing our employed staff to Alamo, give or take a boundary or three, to address the definition of incorporation so an intelligent and savvy majority of residents can VOTE yes or no in a subsequent incorporation election.
So, we ask those that serve us to address that definition and understand that nothing less is acceptable.

The website below provides study reference for neighbors considering petition to LAFCO for definition of an incorporation proposal subject to election. In the absence of such requested definition, this information provides the results of court cases challenging LAFCO and the nature of those court cases.

Dear Editor,
Today I received a listing of candidates that our region's neighborhoods would support as committed to defined government with citizens' immediate oversight of such definition and establishment of government. At issue, these candidates will not agree to run under the current incorporation proposal or appear to support current incorporation definitions.
Thus, a dilemma exists that needs your editorial expertise. Ask proponents of the proposed town of Alamo, and LAFCO, how they intend to present candidates that can achieve broad acceptance in an incorporation election that does not include definition of a government rational voters should consider.
Extremely capable, savvy candidates have been drafted and refuse to run or serve. At the same time, neighbors expect a slate of the same self-appointed leadership, from among proponents, as candidates that are not acceptable to a majority of voters.
It is an extremely complex "catch-22" that will continue unless answered by your journalism.
