The last bus

Public transportation is a good thing -- it cuts down on greenhouse gases and other byproducts of commuting, not to mention providing an alternative to the stresses of the Interstate 680 or 580 morning drives -- but it can also cause stress for those living on busy routes. In this week's [Web Link Simply Sterling] Linda Stolow Sterling discusses her battles with the County Connection bus drove her right out of San Ramon.

The full article is a MUST READ to any San Ramon elected official who forgets that there are seniors that still vote and that these buses are a menace to the Sunny Glen neighborhood. Just as Linda explained in her commentary, these County Connection buses speed through this neighborhood without any regard for the safety of the residents. They do not make the necessary stops throughout the route, since there is no one waiting at any of the stops, so WHY are they coming through here???

Something needs to be done!! I know for a fact that the HOA president had made an attempt to contact both the city and the County Connection regarding this same issue. The result was that the buses slowed down for about a week and then they were back to their usual speeding.

Why aren't the San Ramon police hiding in wait to give the bus drivers speeding tickets, like they hide in wait to give citizens tickets for not making a full stop at the Alcosta/Fircrest corner??? Are the bus drivers above the law??
