Gail and Woody -
I'm not sure if you know this, but white people commit crimes too! I know, your minds have just been blown.
It's 2013, stop being racist arses. And, FYI, our president is mixed race -- what about this article makes you assume that the perps were half black, half white and of Hawaiian descent? That's a mighty specific inkling to have about a short story.

All I know is that I have sledgehammer thoughts about that place every time I'm subjected to their insipid commercials, especially the ones involving models who just must be their wives and children. Retch.
BTW, Gail and Woody, black people don't steal Rolexes -- they only wear big alarm clocks around their necks. Like this: Web Link

@ Gail and Woody - you were both funny and correct. See below...
"Police expanded upon their suspect description Wednesday after viewing surveillance tapes, identifying the two armed robbers as black males in their 20s, about 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build." Notice the word, BLACK?
At you other 3, wake up and realize usually Obama's relative ARE involved!!! Do you ever watch local news?

What's interesting to me is that these porkers, err, posters only come out for the crime news. I have yet to see one demand to know the race of someone who's won an award, or a scholarship or any noteworthy positive thing. Or, if the winner is white, to compare that individual to their favorite Caucasian, either.
If it doesn't feed the irrational fear and hateful prejudice, then apparently it's just no fun. I guess there's no accounting for what some feel compelled to share, when there's little danger that they will be out-ed. But frankly, I prefer to be "woken-up!" by people I know and have reason to respect.
I wonder what would happen to these expressions if, instead of deleting offensive comments, the Express moderators published the source URLs of the posters, instead? After all, rules is rules, and if you break 'em, well ... BTW, I have absolutely No information to the effect that such a change might happen, but still -- there are times when I wish folks had to put their signatures on their "work" hereabouts.

What's interesting to me is that the Liberals aren't more concerned and more up-in-arms about the Media's constant and obvious censorship and bias.
You Liberals are very quick to side-step the main point raised here--about Media's refusal to identify the race of news subjects.
Then you're very quick to try to paint some Conservatives here as being racist (to diminish their point).
Don't you have enough intellectual honesty to at least question WHY so much of the Media doesn't state the most obvious things about criminals identity in their "news" coverages or often couches their words in such soft "politically correct" terminology.
(Maybe the Police themselves don't supply the information sometimes. But often the info is known, but selectively not stated by the Media.)
If someone was to shoot down your Mother in front of you and the Police (and news reporters) asked you to described the criminal, don't you think that--in your desire and effort to help capture the person and warn your neighborhood of the criminal at loose--that you would most certainly state the apparent race (and other significant identifying characteristics noticed by you) of that person, regardless of whether they were black, white, hispanic, asian, or whatever.
If they had some striking ethnic or religious characteristics that would help identify them (or language, accent, tattoo noticed), would you not mention those things fairly first and foremost? I think so!
Would you leave out some major identifying characteristic from the description (just so that you don't offend someone else)? I don't think so. Well, not unless you’re an imbecile.....or actually trying to assist the criminal.
So it's gotten to be very suspicious (and irratating) when the Media leaves out such major
elements of a news story. And I think a lot of Conservatives have become more flippant in their response to such news stories that are lacking such obvious details. Why not!?! It's a farce in the firstplace.
And then there are some Liberals who would prefer it if the Media became even more aggressive with their techniques--became the Gestapo arm of Liberalism. "Let's identify and "out" the Conservatives, so we know who to attack and hound further." Sound like anyone you've heard!?!

1 -- I know lots of proud conservatives, and am pleased to call many of them, each in his/her own way, my good and thoughtful friends. For you, PSMac, to lump them in with the angry, bigoted trolls who posted above does conservatism and my friends a grave disservice. We disagree, sometimes passionately, about policy, but somehow the urge to link the re-elected President with every criminal suspect just never comes up.
Conservatism is not racism, and when I see blatant racism, especially as cowardly expressed behind the virtual bedsheet of internet anonymity, I will call it out for what it is: hateful, destructive and something very different from conservative.
2 -- Because the media are so important to the society, there are many credible institutions that study it. If the crisis of correctness is as widespread and obvious as your apoplexy suggests you believe it is, would you kindly point us in the general direction of actual sources for that proposition -- preferably not named Gail or Woody? Has Fox named it yet? Is it: The War on White Folks! or something? Or have the jack-booted thugs of the Left silenced All organized contrary opinion?
3 -- "The Gestapo arm of Liberalism." WTF? I assume you're referring to me as a member? You've worked yourself into that tumultuous an uproar that I'm a Nazi because I disagree with you? I mean, I'm trying to take offense, but that's so pitifully far over-the-top that it can't even see the top. It more inspires concern for your internal well-being. Seriously, are you okay, PSMac?

You are ignoring the way in which the first two posters expressed their supposed concern. Rather than simply say that news reports should identify the race (or other distinguishing characteristics) of the suspects when that information is available, they made/endorsed a bigoted comment about the (black) suspects being "relatives" of President Obama.
For you to deliberately ignore such blatant racism only demonstrates your own backward views.
