Dear Neighbors,
You asked, "Stevan Thomas, What does he stand for?" Here are some exerpts from his public commentary:
"I was a candidate for US Congress District 11 (Pombo-land) in the June 2006 primary. I'm now an alternate on the Contra Costa County Democratic Central Committee, a delegate to the State Convention and a candidate for State Assembly in District 15." (He dropped out in favor of Joan Buchanan)
“Today corporations run our government and our trade policies to maximize their own profits by outsourcing and off-shoring the jobs that build wealth and create a middle class. It’s supposed to be “we the people” and “of the people, by the people and for the people,” not “of the few, by the few, for the few".
“The large corporations, particularly the multinationals are organizations with only one goal: maximum profits for shareholders to drive stock prices ever higher. Corporate executives make their personal millions and billions mostly because they are handsomely paid in stock options; personal greed quickly overwhelms any sense of social responsibility. Profits are worshipped as the only goal, no matter what the social and environmental costs or consequences are, anywhere in the world. In an individual, this behavior would be considered sociopathic. Corporations are not people and should not have the same rights as citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment of our Constitution. There are so many way Californians can lead, not just our State, but the Country, if we make government once more work for "we the people." I am purposefully using the 13 star, revolutionary flag as my symbol to remind people that we came from a revolution about "government by the people."
