Enjoy an evening with New York Times wine critic Eric Asimov as he presents his new book, "How to Love Wine: A Memoir and Manifesto," on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. And, yes, there will be wine tasting! This special event will take place at The Vine at Bridges (480 Hartz Avenue). Tickets are $60 and each admits two and includes one book and two tasting flights. A few yrs ago, Rakestraw hosted the infamous Barbara Boxer to discuss a book she tried to say she wrote----she was snuck in and out of the store and her handlers (like pit bulls) banned open access. I won't buy a comic book from them.

Samantha, you are hating on an independent bookstore because of the way one of the authors they invited to speak was guarded by her staff? I can't make the connection to why you blame the bookstore.
I love Rakestraw Books! They have such a varied array of events there, and the staff is so helpful when I am shopping. I wish I could make this event - it sounds great!

Diane - I'm with you. Gotta support the locals. Did you see that Rakestraw go a shout out in Sunset Magazine (as did several other establishments). How nice that our little town is featured!
