The next five days decide our region's future
Around Town, posted by Hal Bailey, a resident of another community, on May 7, 2008 at 9:00 am

Dear neighbors,

Your absentee ballots are arriving and many will use mail-in voting to decide the future of our region. SRVUSD will learn if the overall district will approve an increase in parcel taxes to replace State Budget shortfalls. CCC District 3 will learn if the overall district wants significant change from the autonomous power of current supervisors. Our Assembly District will decide who fits our definition of moderate humanity and fiscal responsibility. Our State Senate race will decide if "Other" is a better choice.

By Sunday, much of the vote will be concluded and ballot decisions will have been made. It is your future, as a voter, to decide. The 2008 elections will define WE, the people, and our right to govern our role in our economy, community and humanity.

Consider your vote carefully,

Hal Bailey
