Alamo Community Council
The Alamo Community Council (ACC) is not a formal advisory committee, but it has been in existence for many years and meets on a regular basis. These meetings are hosted by the County Supervisor's office. They offer an opportunity for the various organizations within the Alamo community to build lines of communication with each other and with the supervisor.
Meetings are informal and usually include reports from various groups on their activities in Alamo. Every so often speakers are invited to discuss issues of importance to the community such as plans for road improvements, or public safety presentations by the Sheriff's office. The public is welcome to attend these meetings.
This information is inaccurate. In 2006, Supervisor Piepho unilaterally disbanded the Alamo Area Council and created her own council under her control of agendas and discussions. ACC does not represent Diablo Vista (Alamo) regions' neighborhoods or are Diablo Vista region neighborhoods informed of agendas or discussions to be pursued at ACC meetings. The real function of ACC is to bring together members of other county advisory committees, appointed or select by the supervisor, in our region and to effect the Supervisor's policies among the participants.

We all know that Karen McPherson created an exceptional forum, the Alamo Area Council, for open discussion with all governments impacting Alamo. We also know that Mary Piepho, in her contempt for Alamo neighbors, simply had to destroy that exceptional forum.
Alamo Community Council is nothing more than an embarrassment richly earned by the disservice of Supervisor Piepho.

We should congratulate Ms. Karen McPherson for creating the Alamo Area Council (AAC) as a forum for discussion with all governments. It is my understanding Ms. McPherson created the AAC when she was staff to Ms. Donna Gerber, District 3 Supervisor.
We should expect our current supervisor to continue the community agenda for discussions with all governments as part of the Alamo Community Council. There are two issues that delay that result, 1) there in no participation invited by the majority in neighborhoods within our region and, 2) there is little opportunity for the community as neighborhoods to set the agenda for discussions with all governments.
An appropriate first step would be to post your priorities for agenda discussion in this forum and provide those priorities to Ms. Gina Ferretti, gferr@bos,cccounty.us, for acknowledgement.

How wrong you are!
Alamo Community Council meetings are meaningless events conducted by District 3 staff that is unprepared to address real issues or to allow their discussion. Anyone that has attended these meetings since our supervisor unilaterally stole the Alamo Area Council from us knows it is the intent of the supervisor to simply control discussions of all issues in Alamo.
