I am disturbed by the salary, and the package the new chancellor is receiving. While the tuition is going up every year and 40x from when I first went to SFSU in 1979. The salary is out of sync with the present situation of our economy. Our children are facing enormous burdens with gaining a college education and most State Univ are facing difficult decision with cut backs, increase tuition, over burden classes and so much more. How can the State justify this outrageous salary?

Can you imagine the pension for this position? This is a remarkable salary for any state job. Our poor college kids; of which I have three. I can only imagine that there would have been a "qualified" candidate who come make the same decisions that Mr. Timothy White could make if they had the same job.
