Police unable to locate missing teen

Police in Walnut Creek are again asking for the public's help in locating a local girl reported missing two weeks ago. Larissa Huntsman, 16, was last seen walking off of the Las Lomas High School campus around 1 p.m. on Aug. 24, police said.

Thank you for including the details that this is a family matter / custody issue we don't need to be concerned with.

Tom, parents who have had their rights to custody revoked are generally abusive, neglectful, or found otherwise incapable of caring for their child(ren). How is the disappearance of a 16 year old girl in this sort of situation a "custody issue we don't need to be concerned with"? Most crimes against children are perpetuated by family members.
