Political Donations Prove Media is Biased Against Republicans
State, National, International, posted by SJ, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Sep 6, 2012 at 1:05 pm

Center for Responsive Politics is an independent organization that simply tracks campaign contributions from Political Action Committees.

Their latest study found that Comcast donated $206,056 to Obama, and only $20,500 to Romney, and that News Corp and Time Warner donated ten times more to Obama than to Romney.

It is often said that the fourth branch of government is the media, that is allegedly suppose to be another check and balance on government power. Unfortunately, it is clear that the media is a partisian advocate for the Democrats, and watching how they attacked the Republicans at their convention, and ignored all the blatant lies and misrepresentations by the Democrats, they are simply trying to win the election for the party they throw their own money at. Clear conflict of interest in the media donating money to the Democrats.

Independent voters need to remember this, when watching the so-called news reports, that the media has their own agenda, and the truth has nothing to do with it. Be informed, watch the events yourself, and make decisions based on facts, not media spin.

SJ -

Your posting has several errors in it. It wasn't a report by the Center for Responsive Politics; it was an article by a blogger for the Huffington Post who was using data from the Center's database.

That article also noted that the CEO for News Corp. (parent company of Faux News), Rupert Murdoch donated heavily to Republicans, and the CEOs for Time Warner and CBS gave only to the companies' PACs.

Also, the posting doesn't mention what money media conglomerates and their executives may have given SuperPACs, which don't have to disclose their donors, but whose expenditures on the presidential campaign may outweigh those of the candidates and their parties (particularly on behalf of Gov. Romney.

Finally, anyone who watched the RNC's convention didn't need the media to interpret that debacle for them.
