Dear neighbors,
The choice of candidates in District 3, according to Lisa Vorderbrueggen's column in the Sunday Times, is not very important to district voters. There is a very excellent reason for disinterest.
Among the past three District 3 Supervisors, each conducted agendas separate from the interests of the district residents because it was allowed by their job description. Supervisors have powerful autonomy from any interests by Contra Costans and most supervisors for 20+ plus years have made decisions opposed by a majority of Contra Costans. Whether Supervisor Piepho continues her antagonistic disservice to District 3 or Guy Houston attempts consensus among the supervisors and residents, the result will be the same. The supervisors, as a board, will use their powerful autonomy to abuse District 3 neighborhoods.
There is little interest in city council races for the same reason. At the local level, and more focused on our neighborhoods, city council members use their autonomy in focused abuse of neighborhood character and property.
Let's redefine their job description!
