Our school garden was actually started in 2007 with a grant from The Watershed Company and the Contra Costa Clean Water Program. We recently became a food bank farmer this year. The idea to become a food bank farmer also arose out of another Scout related activity, a service trip to the food bank by Greenbrook's Pack 815 Cub Scouts, that I fortunately chaperoned. My garden co-chair, Dan Parnas, and I are grateful for Shannon's commitment to this project and welcome more scouts and other community members to visit the garden and become involved in food bank farming.
