What's going on at Oak Hill Park?
Around Town, posted by Lili, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Jul 17, 2012 at 12:35 pm

I've noticed that a construction crew is refitting all of the door and window frames at the Oak Hill Park Community Center. Can someone explain the reason and, if possible, from where the funds are coming? Thanks so much!

Lili,

Thanks for the question. Yes, we’ve had some crews out at the Oak Hill Park Community Center over the past few days. They’ve been working on an automatic door opener for the front of the building in order to make Oak Hill more ADA friendly.

They’ve also been replacing some of the wooden doors out there with steel doors. The wooden doors were not standing up well to the constant use of the facility, and the steel doors will last longer and have a greater useful life.

The work is being funded through the Town’s Capital Improvement Program.

Hope this helps, thanks again for the question.

Have a good day!
